OUR VERY OWN STAR!!!!!

At the midway point of Mt Mount Kinabalu where we took a one day rest before scaling the summit in the midst of darkness to catch the Sunrise.

One plate of fried rice here cost around RM20. But frankly, looking at the trouble that they took to deliver the ingredients and the gas stove up, it’s really not that high a price. Imagine ordering pizza to a place that is 2000m above sea level, how much would that take?

With a lack of entertainment up there, we had to resort to the most basic games. Hitting pole with rock.

After singing “Top of the World” at so many campfires before this trip, we finally understand how that feels.

At 4095.2m above sea level, we were literally at the highest point on South East Asia. Frankly, the heart is nothing to awe about considering that tourists get up to that height frequently on Alps. But when you factor in the encouragement that was issued to each other and the many other problems that can fraught our climb, the feeling was truly exhilarating

Nothing beats resting at this outdoor hammocks. With Fireflies and shooting stars dazzling all around, sleep was certainly sacrificed that night.

This night was one of the best night I ever have. Out in the open with stars and fireflies abound while mosquito were kept away by the mosquito nets, it was the best natural night I ever have in life.
